CLINICAL CARE
Fast-tracking
areas of need
A priority of The Hospital Research
Foundation Group is to fund
translational research that brings
better outcomes to patients, quicker.
Thanks to your donations, in 2023
we announced funding for four
'Catalyst Grants' to fast-track areas
of need in South Australia’s
healthcare services.
The four projects focused on rural and
Indigenous mental health, improving
clinical documentation, and understanding
the role carers have on older people’s wellbeing
and hospitalisations.
The funding formed part of the inaugural Medical
Research Future Fund (MRFF) Catalyst Grant
Scheme, driven by Health Translation SA, to
provide a springboard for projects that have high
potential for winning a future national MRFF grant.
Congratulations to the recipients below!

Delivering
better care
to men
A medical training program
to improve practitioners’ expertise
in men’s health and andrology has
been established in Adelaide in an
Australian-first.
Funded by The Hospital Research
Foundation Group, the program aims
to expand the practitioners’ knowledge
of, and ability to manage, medical
issues affecting men.
It will cover issues such as better
communicating with men in practice,
disorders of male hormones, sexual
function, fertility, prostate cancer,
mental health and more.
