Adelady helps deliver 3D insights into breast cancer
An innovative confocal microscope is now
helping researchers at the Basil Hetzel
Institute better understand how breast
cancer grows and survives – in 3D!
Thanks to a $126,000 contribution from
Adelady, plus top-up funds from The Hospital
Research Foundation Group, researchers
can now use the microscope to study breast
cancer cells in their natural 3D environment
by “optically slicing” through tissue samples.
Adelady co-founders Hayley Pearson and
Lauren De Cesare said their mums’ breast
cancer diagnoses inspire them to fundraise
every year – and meeting the researchers
brought even more meaning to their work.
“This is a really proud moment for us,”
Hayley said.
“In fact, it’s the number one thing we
love doing as part of our business,
raising money for breast cancer.”
