PROSTATE CANCER
Prostate cancer is the
most common cancer
diagnosed in Australia.
Thanks to your support, we can advance
research into the detection, treatment
and management of prostate cancer.
HEALTH TIP
If your prostate cancer is found
at stage 1, you have a 100%
survival rate. But only 36% of
cases are found at stage 1, so
please see your GP for a check!
YOUR IMPACT IN 2023:
Improving how aggressive tumours are
identified, allowing for better intervention
Developing new formulas to improve the
performance of medication like Zytiga
Developing better strategies to prevent and
treat therapy-resistant prostate cancer
Improving access to cancer nurses
for remote patients, via a new CAN
Connect nurses program and at-home
monitoring kits
Distributing a ‘report card’ which
outlines the outcomes of various
prostate cancer treatments
Helping more men seek help with
their loss of sexual function
Supporting the South Australian Prostate
Cancer Clinical Outcomes Collaborative
and Prostate Cancer Research Forum.
The Queen
Elizabeth
Hospital
Report card now available
A ‘report card’ that clearly displays the outcomes of the various
prostate cancer treatments is now available to help patients and
their families make more informed choices.
It evaluates the survival rate, cancer recurrence, secondary treatment
and impacts on urinary, bowel and sexual function for each treatment type.
Your donations made this possible!
Visit www.AustralianProstateCancer.org.au to download the report card.
